On the other hand, there is KKR who have been dominating in this season and have one foot in the playoffs with 8 wins in 12 games and placed at 2nd spot in the standings.
KXIP will be in a tussle as their star opener Hashim Amla has left for the preparations of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 along with David Miller. This might meant that West Indies all-rounder Darren Sammy might play his first match for KXIP in IPL 2017. Matt Henry too might make his first appearance in IPL as he has been neglected from the playing XI so far. Henry can bat down the order as well doing a good contribution in death overs.
Good news is pouring in for KKR as Robin Uthappa might be returning to the side after a niggle in his back. Sunil Narine has been in fine form in the opening slot having scored the fastest half-century in the previous game. Chris Lynn’s return has boosted their performance as they scored 105 in the powerplays overs setting a T20 record. Gautam Gambhir has been in good from and if Uthappa makes a comeback, their batting order will get a boost.
