India vs New Zealand: Kohli and company didn't take Virender Sehwag's advice seriously

India were off to a steady start but faltered in the middle.

Indian cricket team didn’t take Virender Sehwag’s advice seriously. The former batsman had spelled out a simple formula to win against New Zealand in Kanpur. But things turned out rather badly for captain Kohli.

A green pitch with aid for the spinners proved too much for the Indian batsmen. Credit also goes to the disciplined New Zealand bowling.

India were off to a steady start but faltered in the middle. Boult and Santner took 3 wickets each to limit Indians on Day 1.

Virender Sehwag’s formula to win the match by scoring 500 runs in the first innings was not materialised by Indian team. They have lost 9 wickets for a paltry 291 runs at stumps on Day 1. It seems unlikely that Indian team would reach Sehwag’s magic number.

Now, it seems that the Indians would completely depend on their spinners to save the day tomorrow. They would also wish the Kiwis played the way they themselves played.
