England’s star all-rounder receives a below the belt blow ahead of the England vs Pakistan clash in ICC Champions Trophy 2017 semi-finals. Stokes was practicing in the nets on June 14 trying to counter the spinners. While trying to flick the ball on the back foot Stokes could not make any connection with the ball and it ended up hitting his groin area. Stokes was in pain straight away as he used curse words falling down on the ground almost instantly. It made him so angry that in agony he almost broke the stumps with his bat.
Stokes sat for a while and starting practicing soon after getting hit in the groin area. He also replaced the stump as he did not want to waste time. But what happened after was a jaw-dropping net session for Stokes. He was decimating every bowler he faced and hitting them for big shots. At first, it was the players who have been called up for the batting practice.
But soon after England’s spinning all-rounder Moeen Ali came into bowl to him but Stokes did not refrain from hitting the big shots. He went on a six-hitting spree in the nets as he spared none of the bowlers.

The bowlers had no choice but to bowl to him repeatedly and just watch the ball sailing in the air. It seems like Stokes got more focused after the nasty blow as he kept his head still and smashed the ball over the bowler’s head. Even his teammate Ali was surprised the way he was hitting the ball, his reaction was close to a jaw-dropping one.
