Daren Sammy Beautifully Shuts Down Troll Over Abusive Comments About Pakistan

Daren Sammy is truly a no-nonsense man

The comments section of cricket pages on social media can look like a war zone when it comes to fans protecting their teams. Sometimes the comments can descend into insults and become so ugly that they cross the boundaries. Former West Indies skipper Daren Sammy who is currently in Pakistan ahead of Pakistan Super League (PSL) came across a similar comment and responded in a manner which is winning hearts on the internet.

Here’s how he slammed a follower for nasty comment on his Instagram post,

Bringing cricket games back to Pakistan has been an issue for the country after the terrorist attack on Sri Lankan team in 2009. Even a decade after, Pakistan has not seen many international matches as most teams refused to tour due to security reasons. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been hosting their home matches in UAE for past few years including a better part of T20 tournament Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Sammy is one player who has been instrumental in bringing cricket back to Pakistan for a while now. He was one of the strong voices in the World XI team touring Pakistan in September 2017. He did the same when the organisers tried to schedule PSL matches in Pakistan.

This year, the Peshawar Zalmi skipper will be leading his team against Karachi Kings in Karachi on March 7. Eight matches of PSL 2019 will be played in Pakistan.

The 35-year-old was overwhelmed with the welcome he got in Pakistan during the kit launch and his visit. He said:

“The harder you work for something, the greater you’ll feel when you achieve it. My biggest achievement has been being able to inspire people all over the world. Thank you all in Pakistan especially Peshawar for making me feel at home. Your warm welcome is greatly appreciated.”
