When Virat bats, I watch: Kevin Pietersen's statement proves he is a Viratian!

Kevin Pietersen is currently associated with the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League

Virat Kohli does not only find fans across India, but he also seems to have a huge international following as well. Even former English star cricketer Kevin Pietersen revealed that he is a Virat Kohli fan just after Kohli scored his 5th double century against Sri Lanka in the ongoing second Test at Nagpur. This was Virat Kohli’s 19th Test century and his 51st overall. This was also Kohli’s 10th century in 2017 across formats.

Kevin Pietersen, the former English great from the South African origin, is known to be someone who reads the game well. So if he reckons that Virat Kohli is someone he feels great to watch when batting, it should be a big compliment for the Indian captain.

It is even more humbling to know that he takes time out to watch Virat Kohli play thousands of miles away while being involved in the Ashes. Pietersen is a part of the broadcasting team for the Ashes. England has already been thrashed by 10 wickets in the first Ashes Test at the Gabba.

The 37-year-old tweeted:

Kevin Pietersen has always been surrounded by controversies. When he retired, his relation with England Cricket Board went south after a dispute with coach Peter Moores in 2012. Despite retracting his retirement, Kevin last featured for England in the Ashes 2013-14 and was informed that he won’t be considered for national selection. He is currently associated with the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League.

Meanwhile, India is on the brink of clinching 1-0 lead after winning the ongoing second Test at Nagpur.
