Watch video: South African woman cricketer kicks England's counterpart during World Cup match. Here's why

This was a real unusual incident that occurred on the cricket field. South African eves are taking on hosts England in a Group stage match in the Women’s World Cup.The venue was Bristol City Ground where English opener Tammy Beaumont and South African bowler Marizanne Kapp shared a comic moment between themselves on the field. Embarrassing for them that it was caught on camera. The score was a mamoth 343/4 when England’s Tammy Beaumont lost her wicket to Kapp. Beaumont scored a maverick 148 as the hosts put on 373 on the board. Marizanne Kapp, on the other hand was the pick of the South African bowlers, she picked up 3 for 77. She may have been expensive and we feel that is why she got cheeky with Beaumont.

Well, South African eves fought hard but were just not good enough on the day, they ended their innings at 305, handing victory to the hosts by 68 runs.

The hosts now are positioned at the third spot in their respective group table with a total of six points while the South Africans remain within touching distance with 5 points to their overall tally in the points table.

India on the other hand have been hot favourites and have deservingly emerged as the team to beat in this tournament. Indian eves have won four out of their four matches.

Brief scores: England women 373 for 5 (Beaumont 148, Taylor 147, Kapp 3-77), South Africa women 305 for 9 (Lee 72, Wolvaardt 67, Hazell 3-70, Knight 2-52)

The episode took place in high spirits, just a way of showing that yes you really played well.

It surely was a colossal score South African eves were chasing but it is really commendable the way they fought hard and made a match out of it. Soon the semifinals will get underway and some of the heavyweights are bound to feature in it. India are the first team to seal their semi-final spot ahead of all the other teams.
