Sourav Ganguly truly does the unthinkable!

The ‘bhadro’ Bengali man, a former Indian cricket captain was spotted shaking his booty at a nightclub, not something one associates with a person of Sourav Ganguly’s stature. In the video, Ganguly is wearing an orange shirt teamed with a black pant. It is heartwarming to see the other side of Sourav Ganguly who comes across as a serious person and means business. It was all-the-more shocking to see him dance like there is no tomorrow. Antics is nothing new to Sourav, who took off his shirt in the Lord’s balcony after India beat England in the 2004 Natwest Series finals.

Ganguly is credited for promoting young talent as a captain. He was instrumental in getting Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan and many more young players onboard. Ganguly also led the Indian team to the finals of the 2003 Cricket World Cup. The left-handed batsman is arguably one of the best captain’s India has ever fielded. He took over the mantle of captaincy when Indian cricket was in doldrums, thanks to the match-fixing controversy that marred Indian cricket in 1999-2000.

Here is the rare video of Ganguly dancing.

Ganguly currently features in debates and match review shows as a cricket expert. He also happens to be the President of the BCCI. In fact, after he came in charge of the BCCI he has made many positive changes to how the game is played. He was responsible for introducing Day/Night and Pink Ball cricket in India. Also, one can see a drastic change in the nature of the Eden Gardens wicket. Traditionally a spinners paradise, it now offers bounce. This shows Ganguly’s far-sightedness for Indian cricket.
