Indian woman cricketer Smriti Mandhana turns 21 today and the people on the social media are pouring in their wishes to make her day special. She is currently playing the ICC Women’s World Cup underway in England and has impressed the entire nation with her fearless batting. She comes from a family where most of her family members are cricketers and she is taking the legacy ahead. Before getting inducted into the national team for the World Cup, she appeared in the Women’s Big Bash League 2016 for the Brisbane Heat. But unfortunately, she suffered a ligament injury. After an intensive rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, she booked a berth in the national squad and earned the ticket to the world cup.

Mandhana kick-started her World Cup journey with a startling inning of 90 runs against the English hosts. She fell 10 runs short of her century which she achieved in the very next game against West Indies women’s cricket team. Right after these two innings, Smriti Mandhana became one of favourites sportsperson in the country.

Today she has stepped on the 22nd step of her life and she received a heartfelt birthday wish from Virender Sehwag on Twitter.
