Virender Sehwag hopes for a 'Mata Chadh Jaayein' innings from Glenn Maxwell in IPL 2017

Virender Sehwag does not spare anybody on Twitter, this time he takes on Australia's explosive batsman Glen Maxwell.

Virender Sehwag’s ‘lagta hai Morgan (Eoin Morgan) mein mata aa gayi hai’ comment made rounds on the internet during India vs England T20 series in February 2017. This time around he made Australia’s fiery batsman Glenn Maxwell his target as he expects a ‘mata chadh jaayein’ innings from Maxwell for Kings XI Punjab in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 starting April 5.

Sehwag tweeted a selfie of him with Maxwell on February 24 declaring him as an ‘X-Factor’ in the Punjab franchise. He hoped for a ‘Mata Chadh Jayein’ innings from the fiery batsman. Maxwell has been associated with KXIP for three seasons. He was picked by KXIP in 2014 after being released by Mumbai Indians.

Maxwell retweeted Sehwag’s tweet, though he could not understand the meaning of the phrase used by KXIP’s mentor.

He tweeted saying, “Is he hoping my parents can join me during the IPL? My Hindi is very poor”. From this tweet, you can have a pretty good idea that Maxwell did not understand at all the meaning of what Sehwag wanted to convey.

Maxwell made the transfer to KXIP count in IPL 2014 as he went on to score 552 runs in 16 matches at an average of 34.50 with a strike rate of 187.75 which includes 4 half-centuries.

In 2014, Sehwag too played for KXIP and went on to score a century in the semi-final against Chennai Superkings to make sure they enter the IPL final for the first time.

Sehwag has been known worldwide for his witty tweets after he retired from all forms of cricket. We will be expecting a lot more from him comes this IPL 2017.
