Raksha Bandhan, popularly known as Rakhi, is being celebrating across India with fun, frolic and fervour. Many prominent personalities like Indian boxer Vijender Singh, Olympics bronze medallist wrestler Sakshi Malik, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared their messages and wishes on Twitter using #RakshaBandhan. Among them, Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli, who is currently in Sri Lanka for 3 Test matches, 5 ODIs and a T20 match, also shared his feelings on this auspicious day.

Virat, who on August 6 became the only Indian captain to win two Test series in Sri Lanka, took to his official Twitter handle and wrote: “A very Happy Rakshabandhan to everyone across the world celebrating, missing Didi and everyone at home today.”

Ea.lrier, team India thrashed Sri Lankans by an innings and 53 runs in the second Test match at the Sinhallese Sports Club in Colombo. With this victory, Team India is leading the three match series by 2-0.

Cricketer Suresh Raina, who is currently not in the Indian squad, also shared a picture with his sister and captioned it as: “Love of a sister, support of a friend or partners in crime, you have always been there! Love you my sister #sisterlove #HappyRakshaBandhan.”

Earlier, Olympics bronze medallist wrestler Sakshi Malik shared a picture of herself with her brother. She captioned the image as: “Got time to celebrate #RakshaBandhan with family before world championship.”

The festival highlights the unique bond between siblings. It involves the sister tying Rakhi on the wrist of her brother as a symbol of her love and prayer for his prosperity.
