Virat Kohli Sweeping ICC Awards Has Got Twitter Talking

We shouldn't have any problem calling Virat Kohli a legend now

Whenever Virat Kohli walks out to bat,  we expect him to score a century.

That’s what consistency is all about. And the Indian skipper got rewarded for his consistency by International Cricket Council (ICC), when he was named ICC Men’s cricketer of the year (Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy), Test cricketer of the year and ODI cricketer of the year.

The 30-year-old amassed a total of 2,735 runs across three formats. He scored 1,322 runs in 13 Tests at an average of 55.08 including 5 centuries in 2018. His ODI batting figures are even better. He scored 1,202 runs at an outstanding average of 133.55 including 6 centuries. He did not disappoint in T20Is as well scoring 211 runs in 10 games.

Moreover, he has been named captain of ICC’s Test and ODI teams of the year. The achievements go on to show Kohli’s brilliance in all three formats showing exemplary levels of fitness.

The Twitterverse had a rather funny reaction to Kohli sweeping all the awards:

The list of awards for Indian players did not just stop there. Young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant bagged the Emerging cricketer of the year award. On the other hand, Prithvi Shaw-led India’s record-breaking Under-19 World Cup win has been voted as ICC Fans’ moment of the year.

Indian players dominated the ICC teams of the year as well. Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant made it into the Test team of the year. Whereas, Rohit Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav featured in the ODI team of the year alongside Bumrah making it into the both formats.
