Virat Kohli, on-field umpire amused after Rangana Herath survives Bhuvneshwar Kumar's lethal swing - Watch

Herath scored his 3rd Test fifty. Later, his 67-run inning came to an end after Buvneshwar Kumar dismissed in the 78th over

Rangana Herath played the most crucial inning on day four of the first India vs Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens. While the Indian bowlers were back on track and troubling the Lankan batsmen, Herath stood strong as a pillar and helped his team getting a lead over 100 runs. He took his time to get settled on the field and then played accordingly. However, there were several moments when he had no clue how to play a particular delivery. He was seen struggling in those moments and was lucky enough to face them safely.

During the 55th over, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was brought into the attack. Herath charged Bhuvi for a four off the second ball after which the Indian speedster replied with a furious delivery which completely bamboozled the Lankan tail-ender. Bhuvi pitched outside the off stump but the ball swung opposite and bounced. Somehow, Herath managed to let that delivery go but he couldn’t hide the confusion on his face.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli was spotted smiling as he was amused to see that firecracker delivery which left Hearth with no options. Moreover, the umpires also felt the same thing as their expressions said it all.

Herath scored his 3rd Test fifty. His 67-run inning came to an end after Buvneshwar Kumar dismissed in the 78th over. The Lankans were all out for 294 in 83.4 overs.

After struggling in the first three days, the Indians were finally back in the field. Indian openers KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan gave a massive start and troubled the Lankan bowlers a lot. Unlike their performance in the first innings, both the batsmen added 166 runs for the first wicket and scored their half-centuries.
