Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli shared a 664-run record-breaking partnership when they were just teenagers in a Harris Shield match more than 30 years ago. Tendulkar went on to become the highest run-scorer in ODI and Test cricket whereas Kambli’s career was short-lived. Today, it has been almost 5 years since Tendulkar retired and his son Arjun Tendulkar is now making his Under-19 debut.
Arjun took just 12 balls to take his first Under-19 wicket against Sri Lanka. Soon enough, the photos and videos of his maiden wicket went viral on the internet. From afar, Kambli had his eyes glued to the 18-year-old’s debut as well.
He could not hold himself back from sharing an emotional tweet —
Tears of joy rolled down when I saw this, have seen him grow up and put in the hard work in his game. Could not be more happy for you, Arjun. This is just the beginning, I wish you tons and ton of success in the days to come. Cherish your first wicket and enjoy the moment. pic.twitter.com/vB3OmbaTWM

Few years before, Kambli said that Tendulkar hadn’t helped him when he needed the most. The left-handed batsman was distraught when he was dropped from the Indian side despite outstanding statistics.
However, the duo buried the hatchet and revived their friendship. The tweet from Kambli proves that there is no love lost between the two. The 46-year-old is getting praised for his move as well.
