Sri Lanka announce 15-man squad for T20I series against India, sideline Lakmal, Thirimanne & Chandimal

Thisara Perera will be leading the Sri Lankan side against a young Indian T20I lineup

Sri Lanka Cricket announces Thisara Perera-led 15-man T20I squad for three-T20I squad against India, starting December 20. Dinesh Chandimal, Lasith Malinga, Suranga Lakmal and Lahiru Thirimanne and Akila Dananjaya missed out a berth in the T20I squad. Barring Chandimal and Malinga, the rest of the three were in the ODI squad. Seems like Sri Lanka want to experiment as well as they have made a few changes in the squad.

Perera has managed to break the losing streak of Sri Lanka in ODIs with a win in Dharmsala ODI. Sri Lanka have not been able to win a single T20I since April 4. They have lost five T20Is on the trot, including one against India and Bangladesh, three against Pakistan.

The three T20Is will be played on December 20, 22 and 24 held in Cuttack, Indore and Mumbai respectively. Team India have included three players in their squad who are set to make their T20I debut— Basil Thampi, Deepak Hooda and Washington Sundar.
