Smriti Mandhana Sets 7 Records In Women's Super League

After establishing herself as one of the most bankable batswomen in the Indian Women Cricket, Smriti Mandhana is now creating buzz in the ongoing Women’s Super League in England.

On June 14, Mandhana became the first Indian to feature in the Women’s Cricket Super League after signing up with defending champions Western Storm for the 2018 season.

In the league so far, the 22-year-old cricketer has registered the scores of 48, 37, 52*, 43*, 102 and 56 in her first six innings, making her the highest run scorer of the league with 338 runs under her belt.

Apart from becoming the highest run-getter in the tournament, Mandhana has also achieved the following milestones in the on-going season.

Highest individual score: 102

Highest batting average: 85

Fastest strike rate: 184

Most boundaries: 34

Most sixes: 19

Fastest Fifty: 18 balls

Mandhana has been India’s most consistent performer with the bat post World Cup 2017. In 12 T20I innings, she scored 402 runs, that included four half-centuries and a career-best 40-ball 76 against England.

In the 50-over format, Mandhana has notched up 531 runs at an average over 66 in 9 games, including five fifties and a career-best 135 against South Africa.

Meanwhile, Western Storm is currently sharing the top spot with Loughborough Lightning, who have also won five of their six games.

The finals will be held on August 27.
