Rohit Sharma on the verge of pipping this UNIQUE record of Yuvraj Singh!

Rohit Sharma has smashed 56 sixes from 68 T20 matches for India. He now needs only 19 more sixes to overtake Yuvraj Singh’s record tally of 74 sixes

Stand-in Indian captain Rohit Sharma has been on a dream run as a captain and personally as a premier batsman. He scored his 3rd double century in ODI cricket and his second against Sri Lanka. With Rohit Sharma hitting a purple patch in Tests and ODIs, crowds will be expectant for a big performance from Rohit in the T20Is as well. Well, as of T20Is Rohit Sharma is on the cusp of breaking another record, this time of Yuvraj Singh.

Rohit Sharma has smashed 56 sixes from 68 T20 matches for India. He now needs only 19 more sixes to overtake Yuvraj Singh’s record tally of 74 sixes from 58 games, a record he could break during the three-match T20 series vs Sri Lanka.

The 1st ODI takes place at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack on December 20. With Rohit needing 19 sixes, he could very well break the record, considering the rollicking form he is enjoying.

Earlier, in the 2nd ODI, his 3rd double century came off 153 balls, which comprised off 13 maximums. So yes, he has a tendency of hitting sixes on a bulk.

The Indian team will be off for the South Africa tour just after the ongoing Sri Lanka series, where regular captain Virat Kohli will join the team. The 1st Test against South Africa will start on January 5.
