Indian skipper Virat Kohli has finally given the much-needed rest by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). On November 27, the Indian cricket board announced the squad for the last Test in Delhi followed by the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Rohit Sharma will be leading the Indian side in the three ODIs starting from December 10. However, Kohli will captain the final Test in Delhi.
Ahead of the Nagpur Test, Kohli spoke about the tight schedule of the Indian team in the recent times. He opened up at a press conference and pointed out the excessive workload on the side. As per cricket stats, Virat is the only player to have played more than 100 matches since January 2015.
Shikhar Dhawan will be back for the Delhi Test. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who got married a day before the Nagpur Test, will be unavailable for the last Test as well.
After sustaining injuries during the last T20I match against New Zealand in Trivandrum, Hardik Pandya was dropped from the Tests. He has been called back for the ODIs.
