We all have been there! South African cricketer Tabraiz Shamsi apologised from his mother as he couldn’t bring milk that she had asked for- he was watching Karun Nair’s sensational triple century. The cricketer tweeted about this after the 25-year-old’s achievement.

Shamsi also appreciated captain Virat Kohli for allowing Karun Nair to complete his triple ton.

“Also massive kudos to @imVkohli for allowing Karun Nair to chase that special triple century 2 mentally grow him as a player!#GunLeader.”

Kohli had postponed the declaration of the Indian innings for two sessions to allow Nair to complete his triple ton. India defeated England by an innings and 75 runs in the fifth Test. India also won the series 4-0.

Karun completed his triple century in 381 balls, becoming the second India after Virender Sehwag to have hit a triple ton. He hit 32 boundaries and 4 sixes to take India’s lead to 282 runs, which proved too much for the English team. The biggest highlight of his innings was that he scored 232 runs in a single day.

Nair was lauded by all many prominent personalities across the country including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Congratulations on the historic triple century @karun126! We all are delighted & proud of your remarkable feat,” said the PM.
