RCB Sacks Daniel Vettori As Their Coach. Will This Change Their Fortunes?

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have sacked their coach Daniel Vettori

The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have sacked their coach Daniel Vettori and other supporting staff members, owing to poor performance of the team in the past IPL season.

According to a report in Bangalore Mirror, RCB has sacked their head coach Vettori, batting and fielding coach Trent Woodhill and bowling coach Andrew McDonald.

Ashish Nehra, who joined the RCB squad as their bowling consultant, will continue his service.

According to the buzz on social media, former Indian coach Gary Kirsten, who coached MS Dhoni-led side in the 2011 World Cup, might replace Vettori. Kirsten had joined the RCB team last year as its batting consultant.

Speculations are rife that present Indian team batting coach Sanjay Bangar might join RCB as their batting coach.

However, the RCB management will take a final call on the new coaching staff in a week’s time.

RCB had a poor performance in IPL 2018 which was concluded in May. They have managed to win only 6 matches out of 14 earlier this year and finished 6th in the points table despite the presence of big names like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.

They have never won the IPL title since the tournament began in 2008.

Since the news broke, many RCB fans are praising the management for taking such a decision. Here are some of the reactions:

RCB has made three final appearances in the IPL so far, but they lost every tournament.
