In a very short spell of time, this young boy has garnered attention from the selectors and the Indian cricket board. Previously, this year, he made his debut in the first-class cricket. In the Ranji Trophy semi-finals against Tamil Nadu, he got a chance to represent Mumbai and smashed a century in the second innings for which he was awarded the Man of the Match. Later, in the Duleep trophy tournament, he represented Indian Red and became the second youngest cricketer to score a century in the tournament after master blaster Sachin Tendulkar.
Although Prithvi was not picked in the U19 squad for the Asia Cup as the management wanted him to represent Mumbai in the ongoing season of the Ranji trophies.
