'Pakistan Performed Better In England Than India', Sarfaraz Ahmed Targets Virat Kohli & Co

Team India would look to bounce back in the third Test match starting on August 18 at the Trent Bridge

Pakistani skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed sparked a debate on Twitter after he claimed that his team’s performances were far better in England than India.

Ahmed’s statement came after Virat Kohli & Co. lost the opening two Test matches against England.

Team India have been facing a lot of criticism for their poor show against the hosts. After two Tests, India are 2-0 down in the series.

In the first Test, barred Virat Kohli no other Indian batsmen managed to score with their bat. Skipper Kohli scored 200 runs while the rest of the top-five scored 99 runs across two innings as India lost by 31 runs.

In the second Test at Lord’s, Kohli faced his worst ever Test defeat since he took over the captaincy from MS Dhoni. Indian team lost the game by an innings and 159 runs.

While talking to reporters, the Pakistan skipper said,

“I have gone on two tours of England and the Pakistan team performed very well on both of those tours. I think perhaps our preparation was better than India’s which is why our team has performed better.”

Sarfaraz-led Pakistan managed to draw the 4-match Test series 2-2 when they toured England in 2016. In 2018 April, Pakistan again toured England under Sarfaraz and they managed to draw Two-match Test series 1-1.

Sarfaraz’s statement has sparked a debate on Twitter with many Indian cricket fans suggesting that this is ‘unexpected comments’ from a skipper.

Team India would look to bounce back in the third Test match starting on August 18 at the Trent Bridge. They have to win the third Test match to keep them alive in the series.
