In the recently concluded Nidahas Trophy tri-series, Bangladesh cricketers celebrated with Naagin dance after beating Sri Lanka in a stunning semi-final

Sridevi starred in a 1986 film ‘Nagina’ which popularised the iconic Naagin dance. It has now become a common way to celebrate. Especially during weddings in sub-continent.  But three decades later, the Naagin dance is still popular. This time, in the field of cricket!

In the recently concluded Nidahas Trophy tri-series, Bangladesh cricketers celebrated with Naagin dance after beating Sri Lanka in a stunning semi-final. Even the team manager showed some of his best moves!

But where did it all start?

On February 15, in a T20I game against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh left-arm spinner Nazmul Islam dismissed Upul Tharanga and celebrated by doing the cobra move. Afterwards, it was Mushfiqur Rahim who repeated it in their first clash against the Lankans in Nidahas trophy.

Since India stunningly defeated Bangladesh in the finals, the cobra of cricket seems to have surrendered for now!
