Most Enthusiasm Ever? Marcus Stoinis' Reactions During Aus Vs SA Are Making People LOL

What got into Marcus Stoinis?

Marcus Stoinis was his enthusiastic best during the second ODI between Australia and South Africa. Despite failing to shine with the bat, Stoinis didn’t let that dishearten him. Whether it was the run out or the terrific bowling spell that took down three wickets, Stoinis ruled the game, and was one of the contenders for ‘Man of the Match’.

The wicket of David Miller was of utmost importance to Australia as he was the only batsman standing between them and exposing the tailenders. The low-scoring affair turned out to be a cracker of a contest and Stoinis’ job in his last over was to bring the match home.

A huge leg before wicket shout in the 44th over was turned down by the umpire. The all-rounder wanted his captain Aaron Finch to opt for Decision Review System (DRS) and he obliged. As it turned out, the umpire’s decision was reversed as Australia got the prized wicket of Miller.

In the post-match press conference Stoinis admitted that his celebrations were inspired by Proteas fast bowler Dale Steyn.

On one hand Stoinis was overly enthusiastic after the DRS going in Australia’s favour, Pat Cummins had an opposite reaction as he looked shell-shocked by it.

Here’s what Cummins had to say about his reaction:

“I was a bit slow. I probably have not done the bowlers much of a favour. You know, we always try to say we are the smart ones. I thought there had to be something else like D-R … what is it? Snicko or something had to come up?”

He took it in a sporting way as well by tweeting about it:

Australian teammate Glenn Maxwell revealed that it took him three or four more replays to believe that the hosts have got the wicket of the left-handed batsman.

So good @gmaxi_32 gets @patcummins30 to explain the story behind THAT reaction! @directhitau

Emotions were at their peak as Australia was desperate for an ODI win since after the ban on Steven Smith and David Warner, Australia have not been able to dominate like they used to. A win against South Africa might turn out to be a morale booster. Especially when it came after a long wait of 287 days.
