India vs Sri Lanka 3rd Test, Day 2, Highlights: Sri Lankan cricketers hide behind smog cover!

Virat Kohli's 6th Test double hundred pinched the Lankans so hard that they had to put the masks on to play the mind game

India Vs Sri Lanka 3rd Test, Day 2, Stumps – Feroz Shah Kotla Delhi; After 31.2 Overs, SL – 131/3. 

The second day began with Indian skipper Virat Kohli becoming the only captain in the world to get 6 double centuries in Tests. He became broke the record of Brain Lara and set a new benchmark. On the other side, Rohit Sharma kept on playing a steady cricket and got his 8th Test fifty. He was expected to repeat the performance of Nagpur and score yet another ton but soon after getting his half-century, he was dismissed by spinner Lakshan Sandakan. Rohit ended up scoring 63 runs off 102 balls.

R Ashwin was the next man who came in to bat while Virat was inching towards his 250. During the second session, there came the moment when the Islanders played the mind game and made the presence of smog a supreme issue. They put on masks on their faces first and a few overs later, they asked the on-field umpires to halt the game. They even cited the deteriorating health of the players, however, the game started after a wastage of 16 minutes.

India then lost Ashwin and Kohli while Lankan skipper Dinesh Chandimal yet again approached the umpires with the same complaint. This the Lankan team officials entered the field to talk to the umpires. The situation turned so intense that Indian head coach Ravi Shastri had to intervene.

The Lankans kept on interrupting th game which turned the Indian dugout more furious. inally, out of anger, Kohli signalled Ravindra Jadeja and Wriddhiman Saha to declare the inning and come back.

In return, Sri Lanka lost their first wicket on the very first ball. By the end of the day, Sri Lanka lost 3 wickets and could score 131 runs. Angelo Mathews got his 29th Test fifty and will resume the inning with captain Chandimal on day 3.
