It was the ODI series decider at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch where England and New Zealand faced each other for the last time. But Kane Williamson and Co. failed to make the most of this last chance. While batting first, the Kiwis struggled badly against the English bowling attack. They managed to put a total of 223 runs after getting all out with one ball remaining in their inning.
The Kiwis probably had stepped into the field to defend such a low total with some strategy. However, Jonny Bairstow made sure that England should take the series home. Continuing in his good form, Bairstow smashed an astonishing 58-ball century which turned out to be the third fastest ODI ton for England in ODIs after Jos Buttler and Moeen Ali.
