Sunrisers Hyderabad is taking on Rajasthan Royals in their season opener and new-captain Kane Williamson had no hesitation in opting to bowl first after winning the toss. Rajasthan Royals, who are fielding their new captain as well in Indian Premier League 2018, opened their innings with Rahane and D’Arcy Short. Short was unlucky on his IPL debut as he fell prey to a runout. He scored 4 off 4 balls. Rahane and Samson then started steadying the innings, but Rahane did not last long, departing for 13. That set Royals on the backfoot, they were 52 for 2.

Rahane’s dismissal was not on the cards as he is someone who likes to anchor the ship. But the catch that dismissed him is already being pitted as one of the best yet of this season.

Kaul was the bowler, he bowled a full pitch delivery, Rahane was looking to go aerial and bisect to the deep mid-wicket region and deep long-on.
Rashid Khan, who was at deep mid-wicket boundary, had to cover a reasonable amount of ground before latching onto the ball. One has to hail the youngster for running, steadying his eyes and then pull off the catch to dismiss the biggest fish of Rajasthan Royals, Ajinkya Rahane.
