IPL 2018: Rishabh Pant Is India's New Virender Sehwag, Tweeps Laud 20-Yr-Old For Maiden IPL Ton

IPL 2018: Delhi Daredevils got their highest total this season by setting 188 for Sunrisers Hyderabad to chase

Rishabh Pant smashes his way to his maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) century in merely 56 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Pant has brought up his maiden century at the age of 20 years, 218 days. Pant truly has been the silver lining for Delhi Daredevils this year. Earlier in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, Pant made a 32-ball century and since then, the limelight has been on the youngster. DD won the toss and opted to bat first which looked like a bold decision. But they lived up to the challenge as Pant played probably the best knock of his career to remain unbeaten on 128 off 62 balls. Daredevils got to their highest total this season by setting a target of 188 for SRH to chase.

Pant’s inning was studded with 7 sixes and he hit 26 runs off the last over of the innings, that too off Bhuvneshwar Kumar. That must have hurt Bhuvi’s reputation as he is somebody who is known to be as mean as the miser with his deliveries. Pant also became the second-youngest to score 1000 runs in IPL, after Manish Pandey. This young bloke from Delhi is seriously pushing a case for himself, which means MS Dhoni might have a successor already. He also became the first Indian to score a century in IPL 2018.

Here is how Twitterati lavished praise on young Pant:

The task is difficult for Hyderabad but this is IPL and anything can happen.
