Australia’s legendary leg-spinner Shane Warne is one of the shrewdest cricketing brains one will ever come across. But, while selecting the ‘All-star team’ or ‘Best XI’ of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018, Warner did not pick the Orange Cap holder of the tournament Kane Williamson or even AB de Villiers. The Rajasthan Royals (RR) mentor also predicted the winner of IPL 2018 final. The leggie feels that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will emerge victoriously in their comeback tournament, edging past Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH.

Only one Australian player made it to the list. Andrew Tye took the most number of wickets this season. He is currently leading the race to win the Purple Cap. The Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) fast bowler faces competition from SRH’s 19-year-old leggie Rashid Khan who has taken 21 wickets so far. Rashid is in a spectacular form and is yet to play the final.

The 48-year-old mentored RR in their comeback tournament. He chose English wicketkeeper Jos Buttler in the team as he single-handedly won several games for RR in the season and helped them reach the playoffs. RR were knocked out of the tournament in the eliminator. Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) bowling got the better of RR’s batting lineup in absence of Buttler.
