Australia’s legendary leg-spinner Shane Warne is one of the shrewdest cricketing brains one will ever come across. But, while selecting the ‘All-star team’ or ‘Best XI’ of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018, Warner did not pick the Orange Cap holder of the tournament Kane Williamson or even AB de Villiers. The Rajasthan Royals (RR) mentor also predicted the winner of IPL 2018 final. The leggie feels that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will emerge victoriously in their comeback tournament, edging past Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH.
Here’s the team Warne shared on his Twitter account —
Good luck to both teams in the IPL final tonight, here’s my “All star team” from this years IPL
Agree ? I think CSK will win !
— Shane Warne (@ShaneWarne) May 27, 2018
Here’s how Warne’s followers reacted to the tweet as they felt it was unfair for SRH skipper —
No place for Kane Williamson who is the highest run getter of #IPL2018
— Abhishek Agarwal (@abhishek2526) May 27, 2018
lol no Williamson or de villerers, Australia at least no now he’d be hopeless as a national selector.

Where is Kane Williamson, why is he always ignored? a guy who’s scored close to 700 runs and lead SRH so well gets a royal snub !!! Ridiculous !!! Virat can be easily replaced with Kane
— Sunil Shenoy (@sunil_shenoy) May 27, 2018
In place of Virat there should be Kane Williamson..rest is ok
— Sunny Deol Army (@ActionKingAgain) May 27, 2018
Remove Virat and dhoni
Put kane Williamson and abd there
— Love Sharma (@Gooner_luv) May 27, 2018
Perfectly selected according to their role and current form but Kane deserves more than Kohli. And also SRH will be the champions again.

What’s your beef with Kane Williamson? One of the top 2/3 batsmen of the tournament, same for fielding and he’s captaining one of the sides in the final. Yet he can’t make your team because he’s a kiwi. That chip on your shoulder aye…

Only one Australian player made it to the list. Andrew Tye took the most number of wickets this season. He is currently leading the race to win the Purple Cap. The Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) fast bowler faces competition from SRH’s 19-year-old leggie Rashid Khan who has taken 21 wickets so far. Rashid is in a spectacular form and is yet to play the final.
The 48-year-old mentored RR in their comeback tournament. He chose English wicketkeeper Jos Buttler in the team as he single-handedly won several games for RR in the season and helped them reach the playoffs. RR were knocked out of the tournament in the eliminator. Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) bowling got the better of RR’s batting lineup in absence of Buttler.
