IPL 2018, RR vs MI: After Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya Almost Injures Umpire With A Rocket Shot — Watch

IPL 2018, RR vs MI: Mumbai Indians all-rounder Hardik Pandya almost injures the umpire, hitting Rajasthan Royals debutant Jofra Archer for a boundary

Hardik Pandya injured Ishan Kishan with a rocket throw from the deep in the previous match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Kishan had to leave the field and remanents of the injury under his eye when he came to open for Mumbai Indians (MI) against Rajasthan Royals (RR). When Hardik came to bat in the death overs, it seemed like he wanted to give a black eye to someone once again (unknowingly).

On the first ball Hardik faced in the 19th over bowled by RR debutant Jofra Archer, he struck it straight. The umpire Rod Tucker had to duck, falling to the ground, as the ball shot towards the boundary like a tracer bullet. Umpire Tucker’s reflexes saved him from suffering an injury at the hands of Hardik.

Here’s the video of the incident —

Tucker regained himself, stood up and signalled the boundary, being a good sport. He was smiling all the way through despite averting a major accident. However, Hardik’s stay at the crease was short-lived. On the next ball, Archer cleaned him up with a yorker and took his second wicket of the over.

The all-rounder got out after scoring just four runs off two balls. Archer took three wickets in a single over and had a hat-trick chance as well. He ended up with impressive bowling figures of 3 for 22 in his full quota of four overs.
