IPL 2018, RR vs KKR: KKR Beat RR By 7 Wickets And Go Top Of The Points Table

IPL 2018, RR vs KKR, Match 15: Rajasthan Royals lose. KKR win by 7 wickets and Nitish Rana picks his second consecutive MOM

IPL 2018, RR vs KKR, Match 15: KKR beat Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets to go top of the table. This is a big win and it was Robin Uthappa, Rana and DK who put KKR over the line. Heading into the match RR had won their last 9 IPL matches at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. Hence, it was essential for the Dinesh Karthik-led KKR to forge a good strategy to counter the Royals, they did that and it showed. For both the teams, they were eyeing for their third win. Both the teams had momentum on their side.

KKR Win and SRK would be like…

23:30 IST: It seems DK is now doing an MSD, he is making it a habit of coming in late and take his team over the line. What a splendid habit to have.

23:08 IST: Was Robin out or not? Stokes claimed the catch, the replay showed there was enough doubt but he was adjudicated out. Lo bhai Big Ben ka jaadu chal gaya.

22:52 IST: Bahaane, bahaane. Now that Ben Stokes is not performing. Here is a Royals fan who has a ‘TIPPANY’ Big Ben won’t like.

22:25 IST: Bhai yeh Narine opening batsman kaise ban gaya. Kuch bhi ho bas bolo ‘narayan, narayan’. He has got stuck into the Royals attack and Royals must be saying ‘yeh to sylabus me nahi tha’. KKR 53 for 1 in 6 overs.

The Narine story:

Is Aakash Chopra the Baba Ramdev of cricket?

21:45 IST: KKR needs 161 to win. Time for the fortress to get conquered?

21:35 IST: Lynn drops a catch, but KKR is okay with it because they know he has to come good with the bat and that is his role. To maafi mil gaya…

21:30 IST: MAIN ABHI BHI ISI PE TIKA HUA HU! What a moment, DK has surely taken a leaf out of MSD’s book. Kisine Curran ko dekha, Is it Curran or Karan? How do we pronounce it?

21:23 IST: Some of the jokes that are doing the rounds. Narine is now getting trolled. Sunil Narine to RR now… Every dog has its day, apne bhi toh ghar aayege, tab le lenge. After he went for 48 of 4 overs.

21:15 IST: It seems Stokes has had enough of needling singles, he goes aerial and gets a SIX and of the very next ball he scoops Chawla in the air only to be caught. 122/5

21:10 IST: RR loses another wicket, this time the wicket of Rahul Tripathi. Andre Russell took a blinder inside the circle. Royals are 106 for 4 in 15 overs.

21:08 IST: Fans hardly seem to be caring about the wicket of Short. Here is what the fans at the Stadium want… but is the King in the house, not seen him yet.

21:04 IST: Commentators curse, as we were speaking highly of young Short, he is OUT. Nitish Rana has become the man with the golden arm. Both wickets to him. Here is some Aakashvani, he called it.

21:00 IST: Short has just upped the ante. He hit a six and a four of Mavi, it seems the rookie has been worked out for now. With Ben Stokes at the other end, it is ominous signs for KKR.

20:40 IST: Samson OUT. It seems he is suffering from a hangover of his last knock. RR lose two wickets, incomes Stokes. They are 62 for 2 in 9 overs.

ALL HAIL MAVI

20:32 IST: KKR has just lost their review. Dude, it was clearly visible, DK, why did you take the DRS? Oh, as they say, cricket is the biggest leveller, DK has redeemed himself with a spectacular stumping of Rahane. Rahane OUT.

STRANGE:

20:25 IST: Typical T20, first 3 overs fetched 9 and then the next 3 overs 39 runs. The game has changed on it’s head, the pressure is on KKR. It is 48 for 0 in 6 overs.

What a pretty start to the match.

Back to some Short jokes…

20:18 IST: Rahane hits four consecutive boundaries of Narine. Hey Bhagwan, what is wrong with the KKR trump card.

20:12 IST: Pressure is on the home team, they cannot break free. The two wrist-spinners seem to be strangulating them. The wristies are putting on a show.  It is 9 of 3 overs.

The Short joke continues…

Fans seem to be in love with Short.

The Raane-DK impressions.

KAUN HAI BHAI:

20:05 IST: We are ready, DK has given the ball to Piyush Chawla, INTERESTING! All the hype around Short as Rahane takes a single.

Time for some Aakashvani…

19:48 IST: Are you guys punting on D’Arcy Short? Will he make it three or will he be third-time lucky?

19:40 IST: RR fans must be kicking themselves, but what could Rahane have done. Feel pity for the lad.

It’s raining jokes on social, here is the first one.

19:35 IST: KKR win the toss, no surprises they will bowl. Guys no Archer yet. RR, KKR unchanged. All we can say is do not go by the toss.

A few thoughts:

Is D’Arcy Short the distant relative of Nigel Long?

Or is Jofra Archer Sir Jeffrey Archer’s grandson?

Just heard Shane Warne was on a brief holiday! We can only guess…

Royals could opt for Archer instead of Laughlin. KKR should remain unchanged. But if they are looking to change anything that will be their batting order.

Key players:

For Rajasthan Royals, Ben Stokes, given his reputation will hold the key. If he fires, Royals will be in a good shape.

For Kolkata Knight Riders, Andre Russell has set the tournament on fire with his explosive brand of batting, he along with Narine and Kuldeep Yadav, will hold the key for KKR.

Relive memorable encounters between the two teams.

Royals getting ready for the night.
