Ben Stokes just took a breathtaking catch and some are even going to the extent of calling it the ‘catch of the season’. Well, we are not sure about that but certainly, it was the catch that stemmed the flow of runs for Kolkata Knight Riders who were cruising their way to a win. Robin Uthappa was on the crease, being one of the most reliable KKR batsmen; he was going along well, taking KKR closer to victory. But just when he looked set, he got a bit too ambitious trying to clear the ground, once too often. He was caught in the boundary, he departed for a well-made 48 off 36 balls. However, his innings ensured KKR had no problems with the chase.
So here is when it happened: KKR were 102 for 3 in the 13th over when Robin flat-batted Gowtham for long -on where Stokes was positioned. He took the catch but almost lost his balance. Realising that he was close to the ropes, he lobbed the ball up in the air, regained control of his balance and body to complete the catch. After that, just in a bid to show-off, he popped the ball again in the air and then grabbed it with utmost ease. The second-half, it seems, was meant for his fans.

Well, what makes the catch one of the best of the season was the fact that Stokes had the presence of mind to lob the ball in the air and then adjust himself to complete the catch.
Meanwhile, KKR has won the match by 7 wickets, what a comprehensive victory. That also means they go top of the table. Nitish Rana has picked up his second Man of the Match award on the trot, just goes to show the reason why KKR is dominant this season.
