Rashid Khan, the Afghani spin wizard, has become one of the favourite overseas cricketer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018. Over the time, his bowling has become a mystery for many cricketers to solve. During Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) last clash against the Mumbai Indians (MI), Rashid could only pick one wicket in his spell of four overs and delivered 18 dot balls.
His phenomenal bowling won him the player of the match award which he dedicated to one of his friends whose son is hospitalised. The Afghan leggie mentioned that the cash prize worth Rs 1 lakh will go for the treatment of the ailing child. He said,
“I want to dedicate this to my friend’s son who is in hospital. Everything will go to him.”

Rashid also revealed that how he planned bowling those dot balls to halt Mumbai’s batting momentum. He said,
“Dot balls is crucial in such a short format. That was the plan to bowl as many dot balls as possible. That was the message from the management to go and enjoy yourself, that’s what I did. I just try my best to bowl in good length area and mix it up for the batsman. As he’s in his stance, I can see where he’s trying to hit.”
Just like the previous season, Rashid has impressed cricket fans with his spin bowling yet again. He also spoke how sport prevails on his motherland and the Afghan contingent in IPL is just trying to make them happier. He said,
“Except sport there is nothing much that gives more joy back home. Me, [Mohammad] Nabi, and Mujeeb [Zadran] are here and hoping to give them happiness.”
Sunrisers Hyderabad are high in confidence after winning all the two games so far. They are currently leading the points table and are scheduled to play their next game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 14 at the Eden Gardens.
