Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have arrived at Mumbai for their next game against Mumbai Indians (MI). Out of the three games they played, Virat’s team has managed to win just one while they lost the rest by a slim margin. Their fighting spirit is commendable and with the same enthusiasm, they are ready to ‘Play Bold’ against the Mumbai Paltan at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on April 17.
Before the game commences, let’s have a look at some of the milestones which RCB players along with captain Kohli can set tonight:
Highest run score — Virat Kohli needs just 32 more runs to become the highest run-scorer in the Indian Premier League. If scores well tonight against MI, he will surpass Suresh Raina who has been ruling this table with 4558 runs for quite a while now.
6 dismissals for a duck — Virat and Brendon McCullum have been dismissed 6 times for ducks in the IPL so far. If they get another tonight, he will go past Ashoke Dinda, Pragyan Ojha, Lasith Malinga, Mithun Manhas, TM Dilshan, S Badrinath, Chris Gayle and Ravindra Jadeja to join the club of players who got out for a duck 7 times, including Suresh Raina, Shane Warne, David Warner, Virender Sehwag and Adam Gilchrist.
73 wickets — Wrist-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal became the all-time highest wicket-taker of RCB and surpassed Vinay Kumar. Now he has a chance to go past Morne Morkel (77 wickets), Dhawal Kulkarni & L Balaji (76), Munaf Patel (74) and Sandeep Sharma (73).
7 Wickets – Chris Woakes has taken 7 wickets so far in this season and currently is the joint most wicket-taker along with Mumbai’s Mayank Markande. It will be a tough fight between both the bowlers for the Purple Cap.
167 sixes — These number of sixes that have been hit by AB de Villiers in this tournament so far. If he hits 7 sixes tonight, he will become the joint-second batsman with the most number of sixes along with Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina (174). Universe Boss, Chris Gayle, however, is way ahead of them with 269 sixes.
12 sixes — These number of sixes De Villiers has hit in an innings which is the joint-third highest in this tournament. If he can hit 13 tonight, he will become the joint-second batsman with most sixes in an innings along with Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum.
162 sixes — This is the six-count of Virat Kohli in all the IPL seasons and he stands after AB de Villiers. If Kohli bats tonight with his beast mode on and hits 12 sixes (which could be possible) or more, he can dethrone Rohit, Raina and De Villiers.
394 fours — These are the number of fours Virat has in the IPL so far. Tonight, he has a fair chance to surpass Suresh Raina (402) and David Warner (401) if he hits 9 fours.
Currently, RCB hold the 6th position on the points table with 2 points while Mumbai are yet to open their account. They hold the 8th position with zero victories and the same number of points.
