IPL 2018, MI vs RCB: Ball Hits Ishan Kishan Near His Right Eye, Might Miss Next Few Games

IPL 2018, MI vs RCB: The wicketkeeper was dangerously struck by a fierce throw coming from Hardik Pandya who was near the long-on boundary

‘Ouch’. That must have been the first words from young Ishan Kishan when he got hit!

Mumbai Indians (MI) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 46 runs to register their first victory of the season. It was a big occasion for Mumbai Indians as it was a long-awaited victory and what better place to come than at home. It was also a day to remember for Virat Kohli, who became the highest run-getter in the history of IPL, going past Suresh Raina to achieve the feat.

But it certainly was not a match to remember for a young turk named Ishan Kishan. The wicketkeeper was dangerously struck by a fierce throw coming from Hardik Pandya who was near the long-on boundary. The ball took a bad bounce, only to go and hit the wicketkeeper near his right eye. Kishan soon fell to the ground, writhing in immense pain and kept asking for help. Soon, the players on the field surrounded the youngster, concerned about what had happened. He was taken off the field subsequently.

To double that pain Kishan fell for a golden duck.

Now, that makes things tricky for Mumbai Indians. If Kishan is to miss next few games, who will replace him as the keeper? We still do not know the magnitude of the injury, hence jumping the gun would be unfair.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed and wait for an official announcement on the same.
