IPL 2018, KKR vs KXIP: 'Umpiring Worst This IPL,' Twitterati Troll Umpires For Calling Legal Delivery No-Ball

IPL 2018 KKR vs KXIP: Kings XI Punjab skipper R Ashwin won the toss and decided to field against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL clash at the Eden Gardens

On-field Umpires Chettithody Shamsuddin and Abhijit Deshmukh faced heat on Twitter after one of them signalled legal delivery as a no-ball during match number 18 of the IPL 2018 season between Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab at the Eden Gardens on April 21.

The incident happened during the start of the 6th over of KKR’s innings when KXIP’s Andrew Tye began his spell. Umpire signalled Tye’s first delivery to Robin Uthappa as a no-ball and the batsman got the free-hit. However, replays showed that some part of Tye’s heel was behind the line.

Tye raised an objection with on-field umpire but his effort was in vain as the no-ball decision remained intact.

Here are some of them:

Earlier on April 17, during an IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians, RCB skipper Virat lost his cool after a caught-behind decision against MI’s batsman Hardik Pandya was overturned by the third-umpire despite UltraEdge showed a murmur.

Chris Woakes bowled a slower length ball to Pandya, who missed it while trying to defend it on the front foot. The ball travelled to wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock who appealed for caught-behind. On-field umpire raised his finger and called it out.

Unhappy with the decision, Pandya opted for a review. After several replays, the third-umpire overturned the original decision and gave a lifeline to Pandya despite the UltraEdge showing some murmur when the ball passed the bat.

Following this, RCB skipper lost his cool and raised an objection with the on-field umpires.
