Sunil Narine picked up his 100th IPL scalp and became only the third overseas player to reach the feat. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat Delhi Daredevils (DD) by 71 runs to break their two-match losing streak. But the star for Knight Riders with the ball was Sunil Narine and Kuldeep Yadav who picked up 3 wickets apiece. Sunil Narine picked Chris Morris’ wicket to make it to 100 and bowled him out for 2 runs. Narine pipped Zaheer Khan in terms of the number of matches played, both currently have 102 wickets in IPL. Khan took 100 matches to get 102, whereas Narine took only 86 matches to cross the 100-wicket mark.
Narine joined the club which already has stars like Lasith Malinga and Dwayne Bravo.

It is a supremely talented club to be a part of. Narine has been the trump card for KKR for a long time now. It was Narine who played a pivotal role in KKR’s triumphant run both in 2012 and 2014.

Meanwhile, with the bat, it was Andre Russell (41) and Nitish Rana (59) who helped KKR reach a position of dominance. KKR set 201 for Daredevils to chase, which proved to be a big ask. Young Nitish Rana picked up the ‘Man of the Match’ award for his emphatic contribution. It is because of his consistency that KKR were tempted to loosen the purse for him at the auction table and by the looks of it, it seems to be paying off.
