IPL 2018: Here's How Arjun Tendulkar Helped Rohit Sharma Score A Match-Winning 94 Against RCB

IPL 2018: Rohit Sharma, along with Evin Lewis, played brilliant innings and forged a 108-run partnership to help MI to post a mammoth 213/6 against RCB

Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma on April 17 played the captain’s knock to guide his team to a 46-run victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 encounter at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. This was MI’s first victory in ongoing IPL 2018 after losing 3 consecutive games.

After suffering a loss of two wickets in first two balls of the game, Sharma (94), along with Evin Lewis, played brilliant innings and forged a 108-run partnership to help MI post a mammoth 213/6 against Virat Kohli-led RCB.

Rohit, who slammed 10 boundaries and five sixes in his 52-ball innings, stayed till the end to score his highest IPL score this season.

Before coming into the game, Rohit was going through a lean patch in his form. In the previous 3 encounters, Sharma had managed to score 15, 11 and 18 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Daredevils (DD) respectively.

Ahead of the RCB vs MI match, MI Indians mentor Sachin Tendulkar visited the team during their practice session and gave some tips to MI’s skipper on how to deal with pressure situations.

Moreover, there was one special bowler in the nets to help Sharma prepare for the RCB challenge and he was none other than Sachin’s son Arjun Tendulkar.

Arjun is a left-arm pacer and one of the regular bowlers for MI team during their net sessions.

During the net session, Arjun also got a few tips from MI’s bowling coach Lasith Malinga.

Besides Arjun, Rohit faced bowlers like Mustafizur Rahman, Mitchell McClenaghan and others.

Earlier, Rohit, who came to bat No 4, smashed RCB bowlers all around the park before and made sure his team crossed the 200-run mark before getting out on the penultimate delivery of the innings.

Currently, MI are at No 6 on the points table with one win under their belt.
