IPL 2018: 'Biggest Flop Of IPL 2018 Is Glenn Maxwell', Twitterati Troll Aussie For Poor Season

IPL 2018, DD vs MI: Glenn Maxwell played 12 matches this season for Delhi Daredevils and could only manage to score 169 runs

Delhi Daredevils (DD) batsman Glenn Maxwell failed to justify his Rs 9 crore tag as he ended the Indian Premier League(IPL) season 2018 on a poor note. Maxwell could only manage to score 22 runs in Delhi’s last league game against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Ferozshah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi on May 20.

According to IPLt20.com, the Australian batting all-rounder played 12 matches this season for Delhi and could only manage to score 169 runs with 47 being his highest. Overall, Maxwell has played 69 IPL games since 2012 and has 1397 runs under his belt with SR (strike rate) of 161.13. In his IPL career so far, Maxwell has only six 50s under his name.

Following Maxwell’s poor batting display throughout IPL 2018, Twitterati predicted that this could be his last IPL season as no one in future would look to buy him owing to his failure on Indian pitches.

Here are some of the reactions:

Earlier, already out of the playoffs contention, Delhi skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat against Mumbai.

Mumbai Pacer Mitchell McClenaghan has a shoulder niggle and has been replaced by Mustafizur Rahim.

For Delhi, Liam Plunkett comes in place of Avesh Khan.

Mumbai need to win this encounter to confirm their place in the playoffs. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are already through to the playoffs.

Only one spot is remaining and three teams including Mumbai are in contention. Other teams are Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP).
