The Indian cricket team completely dominated the first game while the injury-stricken Sri Lankans looked completely struggling. Despite Karunaratne’s 97 and Niroshan Dickwella’s 67, the hosts failed to chase the target of 550 runs and lost the game. Somewhere the absence of Dinesh Chandimal and Asela Gunaratne affected the team’s performance. However, according to several media reports, Chandimal is set to return for Sri Lanka after recovering from a lung infection. On the other hand, Asela Gunaratne might miss the forthcoming matches as his left thumb was reportedly fractured during the first innings while fielding in the slips.
