Virat Kohli-led team India whitewashed Sri Lanka fair and square 9-0. This also happens to be a historic drubbing, for a team touring overseas. With team India on a roll, Virat Kohli has made it clear that he has his eyes set on the 2019 cricket World Cup and believes the process for that has begun. Indian captain Virat Kohli is young, flamboyant and is not shy of a word or two. In fact, in multiple occasions, the man has proved that he is not just ferocious but a fearless captain too. And so, in the past, Virat Kohli was accused of misconduct and at the one-off T20I in Colombo, it returned to haunt him. Though, Virat Kohli has tamed down after becoming the skipper of the team, reportedly, he yet again lost his cool in the one-off T20I against Sri Lanka. A moment that should not inspire youngsters.
So what really happened?
The incident happened on the third ball of the 15th over when Axar Patel’s delivery was edged behind the wicket into the safe gloves of Mahendra Singh Dhoni by Seekkuge Prasanna who was new to the crease. The men in blue went up in appeal in unison, the umpire had a hard look at it, but kept stoic. The Indians led by Virat Kohli kept appealing and increased the tempo of the appeal in those four to five seconds. MS Dhoni was also a part of the appeal but hinted that he heard something (and he is certainly not somebody who bluffs).
