Hardik Pandya plays Test in T20 style, 26 runs in an over & maiden ton sets Twitter ablaze! Watch Video

Hardik Pandya scored 26 runs off an over, which is an Indian record. He hit a hat trick of sixes of the bowling of Pushpakumara

Hardik Pandya, the allrounder from India has set Twitter on fire with his maverick 100 off 86 balls, becoming the fastest to score a hundred at No.8. Hardik Pandya, new into Test cricket, came to bat when India was in a worry spot as their middle-order had collapsed. But then when Pandya came in, he had Wriddhiman Saha for the company. The two of them saw India through to the close of stumps.

Pandya, who already has a fifty to his name and is taking giant strides in international cricket, hoped to get India a good first innings total. Virat Kohli-led India is looking for their first overseas whitewash and hence will be looking to take the bull by their horns. Pandya started Day 2 cautiously, as he lost Saha early but found support in Kuldeep Yadav. He brought up his 50 just as Mohammed Shami had departed and began to cut loose as soon as Umesh came to bat. He scored 26 runs off an over, which became an Indian record. He hit a hattrick of sixes off the bowling of Pushpakumara. This happens to be Hardik Pandya’s highest first class score.

Here is how he created a storm on Twitter:

Pandya created records in his maiden Test ton. This is Pandya’s highest score and first century in the First-Class matches. Pandya’s celebration after scoring the first century got applauded from the dressing room as well. Kohli was anxious when Pandya was on 99. All the players have Pandya a standing ovation for his splendid and single-handed effort to turn the game into India’s favour in the first session.

Pandya also broke Virender Sehwag’s record of scoring most number of runs in the first session of Day 1. Pandya scored 107 whereas Sehwag scored 99 in the first session. Pandya celebrated in a similar fashion to that of Shikhar Dhawan on Day 1 after scoring a century.
