Virat Kohli-led team India beat Sri Lanka 3-0 and created a new Indian record in the process. This is the first time India has whitewashed a team overseas in the Tests. Shikhar Dhawan was adjudicated the man of the series and Hardik Pandya was awarded man of the match for his breathtaking maiden ton. Even though the Indian team is in a foreign land as India celebrates its 71st Independence Day, but their patriotism couldn’t be hindered by the distance. They hoisted the tricolour in Sri Lanka to celebrate 70 years of independence.
The cricketers, who are on a break after sweeping the third Test, are celebrating the 71st Independence Day in full swing. Virat Kohli-led team India is currently on a dream run and hopes to continue the present form when they put on the blues and shift to white ball cricket. Wearing white shirts, the entire team stood in unison and sung the national anthem on what seems to be the lawn of the hotel they are staying in at Kandy.

Virat Kohli, hoisted the tricolour, after which the music began and everybody put on their patriotic sleeves, singing the national anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’. They will soon take on Sri Lanka in the limited over’s version of the game in a 5-match One Day International series, which will be followed by a one-off T20I match.
