Soon after the first hour Indian openers found themselves in the middle, with a lot of pressure riding on Mukund's shouldering after his dismal duck in the first innings.

After a rollicking battle between the ball and the bat on day 3, day 3 was poised to be the day which would see the match move at pace, it did happen but in favour of India. India were bundled out for 189 on the first day, when Nathan Lyon ran riot through the Indian batting order. Ashwin had made it clear in the press conference last evening when he said that if they could wrap Australia for 30 runs or so it would be great. That happened and thanks to Ravichandran Ashwin, who walked the talk by picking up 3 wickets.
