Rohit Sharma escapes 'head injury' as Mathew Wade throws the ball at him during 4th ODI -- Watch Video

Since Rohit Sharma was wearing his helmet, nothing happened to him while Wade apologised to the Indian opener and conveyed that it was an accident

Star Indian opener Rohit Sharma was lucky enough to escape from a serious head injury during the 4th India vs Australia ODI played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on September 28th. It was his helmet which protected his head from the ball thrown by Mathew Wade.

While chasing a target of 335 runs, India started confidently where Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane gave a fiery start to the team and added 106 runs for the first wicket.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma was hit by the ball on his helmet when he was standing at the non-striker’s end during the 16th over. Aussie wicket-keeper Mathew Wade was passing the ball to Travis Head which accidentally fell Rohit’s head. Since he had put his helmet on, nothing happened to him while Wade apologised to the Indian opener and conveyed that it was an accident.

Rohit gave a smile and signalled that everything is fine with him.

Rohit Sharma scored his 34th half-century in this series and scored 65 runs off 55 balls including 5 sixes and 1 four. On the other hand, Rahane continued his good form in this game as well and played an inning of 53 runs off 66 balls and hit 1 six and 6 fours.

Despite a good start, the Indian cricket team failed to chase the target of 335 runs and lost the game by 21 runs. After the dismissal of Rohit and Rahane, the middle order tried to take the game home. However, the Aussies bowlers bowled well enough to get some wickets in the middle of the game and restricted India at 313.
