Virat Kohli led team India is all set to take on Australia in the first T20 International which is scheduled to be played at JCA Stadium in Ranchi

The first India vs Australia T20I is all set to begin on October 7 in Ranchi. The Indian Cricket Team has already tamed visitors Australia in the recently concluded ODI series by 4-1. The convincing win by the home team would have given a morale boost to Virat Kohli-led team India ahead of the 3 T20Is. On the other hand, team Australia has been battered and bruised and they would dearly look for a change of fortunes. India has defeated Australia the last five times they have locked horns in a T20I match, which makes team India runaway favourites for the Ranchi match.

What are the match timings of India vs Australia 1st T20I?

The 1st T20I will start from 7:00 pm, so stay tuned to for all the live updates.

Team News

Australia: To add to the Australian misery, it is confirmed that captain of Australia Steve Smith will not play in the T20I opener. This will surely be a chest blow to a team that is looking to get back to winning ways.

In Smith’s absence, David Warner will lead the Australian team which could act as a blessing in disguise.  Warner has experience of leading Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Indian conditions and has been rather successful at that. Warner’s SRH also won the title in 2016 edition.

India: Team India, who have been in ominous form could give a look into a couple of players or tweak their roles or positions, something Virat Kohli looks keen on doing.

Ashish Nehra is expected to partner Jasprit Bumrah in the bowling department. All eyes will be on Shikhar Dhawan to see how he gets back into the mix after break.

Pitch Report

The Ranchi wicket could offer something for the seamers early on as there would certainly be moist underneath the top, due to spells of rains in Ranchi recently. But as the game goes progresses it promises to become batting friendly. A high scoring encounter is what spectators and fans would be hoping to witness at Ranchi.
