Hardik Pandya was once again on fire against the Australians in the 4th ODI at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. People sitting in the stands jumped out of excitement whenever Pandya hit a six to the Aussies. However, one of Pandya’s sky-high shot turned out to be the biggest nightmare for a 24-year-old cricket fan named Tosit Agarwal who was cheering for the Indian Cricket Team from the stands. One of the sixes smashed by Pandya hit Tosit on his face, requiring stitches.
While chasing a huge target of 335 runs, Team India had a brilliant start where both the openers Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane came out with their guns blazing. Despite a 100 run partnership they made for the first wicket, India lost the game by 21 runs. Pandya, as usual, entertained with is quick 41-run innings which includes 3 sixes and one four. And one of these 3 sixes went into the crowd to hit Tosit who was present at the P1 stand of the stadium.
As per several media reports, right after being hit, he was taken to the medical centre in the stadium where first aid was administered. He was later taken to HOSMAT hospital where his wounds were sutured.
Later, the vice-president, HOSMAT Hospital, Ajit Benedict Royan, said in a statement,”He got a cut just below his lower lip, lower teeth and his tongue.
After losing the fourth ODI, the Indian cricket team is currently leading the 5-match series by 3-1. The last match of the series is scheduled to be played in Nagpur on October 1. After this ODI series, both the teams will play a 3-match T20I series which will start from October 7 and the first game will be played in Ranchi.
