Virat Kohli-led Team India will leave for South Africa on December 27 to play 3 Test matches, 6 One Day Internationals and 3 T20 Internationals. Team India will be visiting South Africa as the Number 1 Test team with 4,493 points, 125 rating, while South Africa is at Number 2 with 3,767 points and 111 ratings.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chairman of selectors MSK Prasad, while announcing the 17-member Test squad, claimed: “This is the best balanced [sic] side, I am sure this team will really do well.”
BCCI on December 4 included veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel and paceman Jasprit Bumrah in the 17-member squad for the three-match Test tour of South Africa.
