India’s Twenty 20 captain Virat Kohli on January 25 has said that it is important to back youngsters in the shortest format of the game so that they can gain some confidence and can take this forward in limited overs cricket and also in Test matches.
Virat, who leading the Indian cricket team after M S Dhoni stepped down from the captaincy earlier this year, said: ‘The idea behind youngsters in team is to give to them confidence.”
“Team India have a clear vision for youngsters joining the T2OI team,” he added.
After thrashing England in the One Day International series by 2-1, India will now take on visitors in the three match T20 series starting January 26 and will be played in Kanpur, Nagpur and Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin, India’s two premier spinners have been rested for the three-match T20 series. legspinner Amit Mishra and Jammu and Kashmir allrounder Parvez Rasool have been named in place of them.
