Imran Tahir races to the top of ICC ODI bowlers ranking table

Tahir topped the list with a total of 761 points and surpassed New Zealand pacer Trent Boult and Jamaican spinner Sunil Naraine.

After slamming the Sri Lankan guests by 5-0 in a bilateral series at home, two South African cricketers, Imran Tahir and Faf du Plessis have acquired new spots in the ICC ODI ranking list following mindblowing performances.

Proteas wrist spinner Imran Tahir has become the top ODI bowler after gaining 49 points in the recently concluded series. Thus, surpassing New Zealand pacer Trent Boult and Jamaican spinner Sunil Naraine, Tahir bagged the first position with a total of 761 points. Taher already has been ruling the rank list of ICC T20 bowlers.

On the other hand, Fad du Plessis, after his splendid performance throughout the series, has reached his career best and has booked the 4th slot in the ICC ODI batsmen ranking. Du Plessis earned 67 points during the series and now leads team-mates Quinton de Kock in fifth position and sixth-ranked Hashim Amla by 10 and 25 points, respectively.

However, Australia’s David Warner is ruling the batting table, and he is followed by South Africa’s AB de Villiers and Indian skipper Virat Kohli who is at the third place.

Other players from the series who showcased a class performance and rock the ranking list were South Africa’s Wayne Parnell and Chris Morris. Morris has vaulted 70 places to 51st position after claiming eight wickets while Parnell was the leading wicket-taker in the series for which he has been rewarded with a jump of 16 places that has put him in 28th position.

For Sri Lanka, the only good news is Niroshan Dickwella’s shifting from 65th pace to 62nd position in the batting table.

The most notable mover in the ICC ODI Player Rankings from the New Zealand-Australia series was left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner, who has achieved a career-best 23rd spot after rising 11 places.
