Rohit Sharma-led team India got off to a dreadful start in the 1st ODI against Sri Lanka at Dharamsala. Earlier, the visitors won the toss and invited the hosts to bat first. India got off to a dismal start, they lost Shikhar Dhawan in the last ball of the second over with the score on 0. Soon they lost Rohit Sharma to a faint edge, DRS was taken on both occasions after the umpire adjudicated it not out. But Sri Lanka won both the reviews and the decision had to be overturned. India was 2 for 2.

Dinesh Karthik was next to bite the dust as he got out for a duck after facing 18 balls, this happens to be the first unwanted record achieved by an Indian batsman.

India also scored 11/3 in the first powerplay, which happens to be the lowest powerplay score. This is India’s lowest powerplay score.

The score of 28 for 6 is now the lowest score at which India have lost their sixth wicket in an ODI. Previous lowest being 39 v SL, Sharjah, 2000.

The score of 16 is now the lowest score at which India have lost their fifth wicket in an ODI. Previous lowest being 17 v Zimbabwe, Tunbridge Wells, 1983.
